The Vuelta Cicloturista Internacional celebrate this year it´s 23th anniversary.

More than 350 participants from all over Europe participate in the 5 stages - in total 360kms and as you would expect from Gran Canaria, over 4.300 meters of climbing and descending.

The riding is hard and competitive, but controlled as the peleton sweeps through the amazing landscapes of Gran Canaria. All 5 stages are realized without time trial.

One exception is the "Escalada Internacional" on the 8th of December, known as one of the hardest mountain time trial races in Europe!

Special Highlight during the "Vuelta Cicloturista":
Escalada on the 08th of December 2011

The 10th Escalada Cicloturista Internacional mountain-time trial stage on the 8th Dec is a special closed road event for the mountain time trial up the famous 23% gradient climb and 23kms to Pico de las Nieves. This famous climb is known to be steeper than the Mortirolo, Tourmalet or even the famous Angliru in Northern Spain.

Vuelta Cicloturista 2011: 5th - 10th of December 2011

    • Stage 1: Monday, 5th of December 2011, 30 km
      Maspalomas, Ayagaures, Mirador de Ayaures, Cima Pedro González, Maspalomas.

    • Stage 2: Tuesday, 6th of December 2011, 80 km
      Maspalomas, Puerto Rico, Mogán, Pie de la Cuesta, Cruz de San Antonio, Soria, Cercado de Espino and Maspalomas.

    • Stage 3: Wednesday, 7th of December 2011, 70 km
      Vecindario, Santa Lucía, San Bartolomé, Fataga.
       
    • Highlight "Escalada Internacional", Thursday, 8th of December 2011, 23 km
      Mountain-time trial stage from Agüimes to the highest point of the island, the "Pico de las Nieves".

    • Stage 4: Friday, 9th of December 2011, 103 km
      Maspalomas, Arguineguín, Puerto Ríco, Mogán, Mirador de la Aldea, Mogán, Puerto Rico, Arguineguín, Maspalomas.

    • Stage 5: Saturday, 10th of December 2011, 75km
      Maspalomas, Vecindario (official starting point), Alto de las Crucitas, Agüimes, Guayadeque, Maspalomas
