On the weekend of the 18th of June the 44th Vätternrundan will take place in Motala, sweden. With a 300km lap, Vätternrundan is one of the biggest bicycle recreational ride. More than 20.000 participants will front this challenge - and free motion will be there!
On the Friday the 18th the recreational road bike world will again focus on Motala. This small town next to the lake Vattern will welcome more than 20.000 participants, their friends and families included to challenge the race of 300km. First groups will start at 8 pm on friday evening. This privilege belongs to the so-called veterans: cyclists participating since the first race in 1966.
After, groups of 60 to 70 will start, with a two-minute interval. It might sound huge, but the team of Vätternrundan is reputated and well known for its excellent organisation. No delays and even though the village swells up to 3 times its size, it still has it´s familiar flair. And a lot of going on about todays road riding.
Like on the expo next to the event: supplier of different bike fields join up, showing the newest stuff. With the Tourist board of Gran Canaria Free Motion will also welcome the visitor and participate, for the very first time, at the race itself! An own group will challenge the 300km and is already looking forward, to bring gran canarias sun and trainings-sessions up to this spot.
